I like the concept of combining details from one location with another. In “Turquoise & Yellow – Central – Park [December 2006] ” I’ve combined a drawing from my New York sketchbook (2006) with a more recent drawing from a collection that I’m putting together every time I visit Stansted Park in Rowlands Castle, Hampshire UK. The two parks are very different, they’re 3,500 miles apart – one is 843 acres and initially opened in 1857 – the other dates back to the 12th century and is 1750 acres !
Check out my last blog which includes full details of [viewPOINT] – my one day course in LOCATION drawing and painting 18.3.13. The LOCATION of the course will be in the fabulous ARBORETUM of STANSTED PARK, where there’s an amazing collection of trees from all over the world. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a collection of contemporary visual responses to this wonderful location. The course is open to students from all levels.
I’m looking forward to it and what’s more there’s an excellent tea room with amazing cakes and there’s a fantastic farm shop with all manner of fresh and delicious delicacies ! I can recomend their selection of cheeses !!
More later !!
