56 years ago, when I began my Foundation Course in Art and Design at the Ipswich Art School, I made an art box and today I updated it ! I’ve added two new brass toggle fasteners, a brass stay to stop the lid from staining the hinges and an up cycled leather handle. The leather handle was in fact cannibalised from a pair of Karl Kani boots that I couldn’t bear to part with. Hopefully the two mirror plates that hold the strap in place will fare better than the previous handle, which got lost when I took it off years ago to repaint the box !
