Flora : a work in progress.

Below is a sketchbook doodle of exotic flora. The layering of imagery is something that I do when I’m documenting the history of poses in my life drawing classes. Rather than the drawing being an illustration of a single flower here we have multiple layers of interest woven together. The concept was to depict growth and movement over time and space. I work in sketchbooks to test out ideas, ways of working  and  different  media.  At  this  stage  I’m  not  sure  what  medium  I  will  be  use for the final outcome, which will be on a piece of mounting board 15.5” square  (here  the  sketchbook  pages  are  190mm  square).  I  have  begun  the  final  piece,  which  I  will  show  in  another  post.
