Banks, Seagulls, Umbrellas and Rain

Robert Frost once wrote, “a bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it rains”. Well, its still raining and I have just returned from my studio and am more than a little wet because I didn’t have an umbrella. The banks probably have a billion umbrellas in each branch ! Pause for thought – perhaps we have the makings of our next illustration . . .

I just looked out of my window and noticed my car in the road and despite the heavens being wide open the large gobbit of seagull poo on my roof is still there – I’m not sure about the diet of your average seagull but the entire bird population seems to have suffered lavatorial digressions of one sort or another recently and largely over my car – why me ? What have I ever done to the birds ? I like birds – I even subscribe to The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds but they obviously haven’t been told. Well chaps please stop it now ! Oh and by the way – please God can you close the flood gates and stop the rain too ?
