Colour, Clouds,Wives Tales & Woodworm.

Two of yesterday’s signs of impending high wind. Mackeral skies and mares tails make tall ships carry short sails – so the saying goes !

Apparently slugs like these as well as aphids – so my tip for the day is – plant some sacraficial nasturtiums, to keep the pests off your strawberries ! Personally, I just like the colour ! I don’t like using chemicals to control pests and prefer natural methods – I also have pets which wouldn’t like slug pellets either. Next year I’m going to grow even more Nasturtiums and keep my fingers crossed ! Judging by the army of slugs in my garden I need all the help I can get !

I’m afraid that’s all I have to impart this morning – I’ve a busy day ahead and the next delightful task is to take the remnants of my sofa to the dump. I spent a happy couple of hours yesterday afternoon sawing up the woodworm infested chaise longue – as yet I haven’t spotted any evidence of the basement floor being infected – I really don’t want to replace that !!

Toodlepip !

    You can eat nasturtiums x

    • Cheers Alex – Thanks for reminding me of that. I seem to recall (from my dim and distant past) my grandmother used to pickle them. It sure beats buying capers ! Have a fab day !! x
