Shape & Form

I decided to give everyone a break from my rorschach series and post a few life drawings instead !

Here I’ve experimented with the basic shape of  the pose and drawn this, then the model inside the shape. As you can see I repeated the exercise, playing with scale and filling in some of the shapes at random. No attempt was made to indicate light and dark as this would only confuse matters even more – besides which – I rather like the flat quality of this piece ! “Shape Shifter Two ” © chriswoodartist all rights reserved 2012. A simple version ! “Two” © chriswoodartist all rights reserved 2012. Charcoal on A1 (841 x 594mm) Grey Sugar Paper.

This was made a week ago and it was simply playing with the composition of two contour drawings.

This is was made to demonstrate posture by drawing some simple construction lines to indicate the dynamic of the pose. Here we see a vertcal line plus very basic angles across the pelvis, shoulders, knees etc.

I’ll add a few more doodles to the “Drawing” area of this site – right now – I have an appointment with a particularly splendid bottle a Real Ale ! cheerio !!

    • Cheers ! PS I really liked your latest post and have rescued several pieces of disguarded printmaking from the bins at the school. Time permitting, I’ll add to them and share them later !
