Students may work digitally – in which case you may go to an IT suite if you like.
We want you to have a body of work exploring environments, mood and appeal
PROJECT : “ENVIRONMENT FOR A GAME”
Take photos, make sketches/colour studies of various interesting environments – suggestions; Church, Seafront, Harbour, Pub.
Take shots of interesting perspectives – consider scale change. eg. Look up, look down, look at detail, look at large scale etc.
Create Collages from photos and add character(s) of your own choice.
Over the next two weeks make collages- photographic and/or mixed media which show you have considered the following moods; horror, fantasy, comedy.
Change colour palettes (digitally if preferred) in order to address ‘appeal’ of your scene.
Keep all work as JPEG’s.
Week 11 – GROUP CRIT : select 3 pieces of work that you want to show in a crit.
The work will need to be shown to the other members of the group and if digital, students will need to bring own laptops in (or email to students with laptops).
