Keel off, engine out ! Progress Report : Deben 4 Tonner : Leading Wind

one disreputable looking keel plus a very sad collection of keel bolts !

The keel before it was transported into the shed – note the chunks of filler that faired in the ballast keel in with the boat !

The empty engine bed after the Yanmar came put for rebuilding

The interior before it gets taken out to allow further access to the frames and floor timbers. NB The timber on the starboard bunk is the remains of the rotted mast step

Galvanised iron support for deck stepped mast (in tabernacle). Note the remains of the old keel stepped mast – when the keel came off the mast step broke off as the keel bolt and surrounding rot had compromised the strength of the 80 year old timber.

Thats all for now
